“Oh, Yertle the Turtle, O Marvelous Me! For I am the King, of all I can see!”
Here are some great teaching ideas, crafts, and resources for one of my favorite works by Dr. Seuss, Yertle the Turtle. This picture book isn’t without its controversy {see the end of the post for that article!}
Regardless, Yertle the Turtle is a great introduction to greed, fair treatment of workers, and political unrest. A lot of meat to chew on in this Dr. Seuss story. Plus, the story after Yertle the Turtle entitled Gertrude McFuzz, is a must-read for any parents and teachers with kids consumed with body image and looks!
