Gluten-free Breakfast Ideas for Back to School

Hello, everyone! Karen, one of our editors, did an amazing round-up of back to school breakfasts earlier this week.  Problem was, I couldn’t eat most of them!

I thought I’d share a gluten-free version, because that’s how we have to eat in our household.  You can read more about our gluten-free journey here.

Please remember…

Here are some of the tried and true breakfast ideas, from my very own gluten-free kitchen, that are packed with protein, good carbs, and healthy fats.  Even the carb-heavy GF breakfasts that are grain-free keep you full for hours.

Many of these blogs listed here are in heavy rotation at my home.  These bloggers are amazing resources for those new to gluten-free cooking and baking.

If you aren’t gluten-free, give some of these a try.  You will be surprised how much better you feel.

From Against All Grain via Real Sustenance- The most perfect GF waffles.

Grain-free too.  I’ve made this recipe over 30 times. It has fooled even the pickiest gluten-eater.

It’s no fail. Freezes well.  An added bonus: it keeps you full for HOURS, unlike it’s wheat-based cousin.  Make on the weekend, and pop in the toaster for busy school mornings!

We do. Twice a week.

GF Bagels with Homemade Salmon Spread from my other site momnivore’s dilemma.

Omega 3s before school is a good thing, and this takes less than 5 minutes!

Spunky Coconut’s Pumpkin Pie.  Yup. This recipe is so healthy, we eat it for breakfast in the fall.

I’m gluten-free so I really appreciate this round-up! I pinned it to my GF board. Such great menu options, I’m going to have to try some! Thanks so much for linking up to Happy Hour Friday! Hope to see you back next week 🙂

Great round up of b’fast ideas … the most important meal of the day. I’ve yet to find a really great waffle that I can eat (I can’t eat all the gluten free “flours”) but the ones here using coconut flour seem so very promising. Can’t wait to try them. And the butternut hash sounds like it would also be great at dinner too; you can never go wrong with butternut squash 🙂 Thanks.

Meet the Teachers

Meet the Teachers

Back when we were both teaching, we dreamed of a website that would make lesson planning easier. We both remember late nights scouring search engine for unit ideas. After searching 1000s of blogs and sites, nothing was exactly meeting our vision: creative resources for the overworked teacher or homeschooler! So…this was born.
