My front door was looking a little plain when I removed the turkey I crafted for Thanksgiving. Since my son loves front door decorations and stamping, I combined these two activities and made a kid-friendly Christmas wreath with him.
Momnivores Dilemma’s glam book page wreath inspired this project. If you have older children, her wreath is a great option for a night of crafting. You must stop by her post because like her, I am a fanatic about marigolds.
Here is our Kid Friendly Christmas Door Wreath:
I dug through my stamp collection and picked out a few stamps that had a Christmas feel to them so my son could have at it-stamping that is! With wreaths, I prefer textures and patterns. I like how the stamps add visual appeal to the wreath.
Don’t have stamps? You can create the same wreath using wrapping paper!
- green and red construction or cardstock paper
- stamps
- stapler
- crayola thick marker
- small door wreath
- ribbon
- glue gun
- Stamp construction paper {preferable water based ink}, unless you want an ink-covered child.
- Cut construction paper into rectangles.
- I rolled the construction paper with a marker into a cone shape {my #1 stapled it together}.
- Adhere ribbon to wreath with glue gun.
- Adhere cones to wreath with glue gun {I put the glue on the back of the cones my #1 placed the cones on the wreath}
- #1 hung it on the nail on the front door.
- Admire.
Stayed tuned for tomorrows round up of Kid Friendly wreaths!
