Need a simple and effective way to teach shapes? Enter file folder games.
You could also forgo the file folder and simply make a memory & match game for slightly older kids. These printables could also make a fun shape matching math center.
My son’s autism preK is huge on file folder games, and I know I used them in my primary grade classrooms. The teaching world needs more free file folder games.
I really think this cupcake shapes game is one of the best file folder games out there. Even better, because it’s free. That’s how much we love you.
Here’s a sample of one of the pages {watermarked}:
Adorable, right?
Your preschoolers and kindergarteners will eat this up.

Please do not refer to a rhombus as a diamond. It is very difficult to get first and second graders to change their vocabularies when they learn the wrong word. A diamond is a hard rock that becomes a precious jewel. It is not a shape. Our students are required to use the correct terminology-rhombus. I hope you will update your products to reflect the correct term.
Thank you,
Linda

I totally agree! I spent 9 years trying to get that simple little concept across, thanks to pre-K and day care teachers who did not know any better. The current Kinder and 1st grade curriculae are enough without having to RE-teach things learned at a very tender age!
