Preschool Christmas Tree Counting Activity

My little buckaroo has been very busy this Christmas year. He likes singing these songs from our Gingerbread Activity post. He made a Christmas Wreath for our front door, and this week he created a Christmas tree counting game from popsicle sticks.

  • Large popsicle stick
  • green paint
  • wide paint brush
  • container for painting
  • paper
  • printer
  • nickel
  • pencil
  • crayons
  • glue

  1. Paint sticks  in a container. I used a metal roasting pan from the dollar store. {image below} and set sticks aside to dry.
  2. Print out numbers on your printer.
  3. With a pencil, use a nickel to draw a circle around the numbers.
  4. Color them with crayons.
  5. Cut out circled numbers.
  6. Glue circled numbers to popsicle sticks.

Use a foil pan to contain the chaos!

Here he is, hard at work on those fine motor skils…

Again, the final product:

Meet the Teachers

Meet the Teachers

Back when we were both teaching, we dreamed of a website that would make lesson planning easier. We both remember late nights scouring search engine for unit ideas. After searching 1000s of blogs and sites, nothing was exactly meeting our vision: creative resources for the overworked teacher or homeschooler! So…this was born.
