When I was teaching first and second grade, I often used poems and songs to reinforce fluency practice. Here is one of my favorites for St. Patrick’s Day. I made this song a printable, because you could send it home as “homework” to sing with their families. Use this song in a center to hunt for simple sight words. Perform it for other classes. The ideas are endless!
