On Thanksgiving Day it is essential to have an activity to keep the kids busy! Make this pumpkin measurement activity a Thanksgiving tradition in your home see your children can see how many pumpkins tall they are each year.
I created a free pumpkin printable template in two different sizes for a measurement activity that includes: coloring, cutting, and measuring! It’s the perfect activity to practice fine motors skill and a little measuring.
- printer
- white paper {I prefer card stock}
- scissors
- coloring materials: crayons, markers, colored pencils etc…
- tape
- measuring tape
- Print my large & small pumpkin templates here, as with all of our freebies, this is a personal/classroom use product only. It is not for commercial use.
- Set up a coloring work station for the kids with various coloring materials
- Have them color then cut the pumpkins
- Designate an area on the wall where they can attach and stack their pumpkins to the wall
- Have them measure “how many pumpkins tall they are”. Make sure to measure the adults too!
- Take out the tape measure and measure the height of the pumpkins or mark everyone’s height on the pumpkin and see who is the tallest or shortest!
We have have an in depth Elements of Art study that has a pumpkin theme, also available at our TpT shop
