Every year I display my Christmas cards then I recycle them. Last year I decided not to throw them out after the holidays, instead I was going to find a way to repurpose them. This year I am using them as Christmas card puzzles!
I’ll show you how to make this easy recycled card craft for your Christmas classroom parties, to use for math centers, or for the kids to craft and play on Christmas Day!
- Christmas cards with a solid image on the front {reindeer, santa, Christmas tree, etc…}
- card stock that coordinates with the Christmas cards
- scissors, and if you own one, a paper cutter
- glue stick
- pencil
- Glue every inch of the top half of Christmas card to card stock
- Leave a quarter of an inch card stock boarder around Christmas card
- Trim with a paper cutter or scissors
- Turn card over and on the back draw lines to cut to make puzzle pieces
- Cut out puzzle shapes
- Turn them over and let the kids put the card back together
I store each of my Christmas card puzzles in ziplock baggies. I use the ziplock baggies that you can write on with information about the picture, reindeer, snowman, etc.. For longevity laminate them. Enjoy!
