With the winter months just a few weeks away, it’s time for many of us to begin preparing resources for our winter units. Every winter, I love engrossing my kids into snowman literature! Help extend the fun with our Free Snowman Poem mini-unit. This free printable snowman poem unit and corresponding literacy centers will delight your kids all week long.

I loved using the Poem of the Week format in my 1st and 2nd grade classrooms, and it is also very successful in my homeschool. I can cover a ton of ELA ground and standards, without relying on heavy text. I’m able to differentiate instruction for my son with autism, and my son who reads grade levels above his age. All students benefit from memorizing poetry, but this unit digs deeper because of the literacy center work.
