Occupational Therapy Ideas for Kids

As a mother of a child with autism, I know first hand how challenging teaching life and motor skills to children with delays can be.  Occupational therapy encompasses everything from life skills, fine motor, gross motor, to executive functioning.

I hope this board can help the many dedicated therapists, teachers, and parents who need ideas to help their students and children.

It depends on the needs of your child. Some may be too advanced, but if your child has sensory issues or is in Early Intervention, you can run it by your OT. If not, try them and supervise small materials! My sons loved the puff ball into an old container activity when they were 2.5. Bubble wrap popping is also fun for 2 year olds.

      Hope this helps,

      Aiza-

I have a 7 year old with autism, so I know how tough it is to find things that work! Hope these ideas inspire you and help your son.

Meet the Teachers

Meet the Teachers

Back when we were both teaching, we dreamed of a website that would make lesson planning easier. We both remember late nights scouring search engine for unit ideas. After searching 1000s of blogs and sites, nothing was exactly meeting our vision: creative resources for the overworked teacher or homeschooler! So…this was born.
