Learning how to recognize coins and count money are tough concepts for children to grasp. Children learn best with hands-on activities. We also think using real money, as opposed to play money, gives this math activity more authenticity.
Today’s activity is an Easter egg hunt that could be used an a math center for spring in kindergarten and first grade classrooms. If you are a homeschooler, you could hide the eggs around house or yard like I did!
We’ve also added free data sheets so they can record their findings. One sheet is for coin recognition and the second sheet is for counting their findings.

I love this idea! However when I clicked on the two pages, they were both the coin recognition one.

Thanks, Tami. I just updated it. It is now the counting activity. Try and download it again.
