This making words activity has the mystery word “thankful” and is a perfectly differentiated literacy activity.  You can lead your class by slowly building up to the mystery word, or you could use this making words printable in self-directed centers. Whether you have students who can only spell 2 or 3 letter words, or students who need a challenge, making words is a perfect Thanksgiving literacy activity that allows for differentiation!

I am starting my Literacy club on next Monday for my first graders.
I visited your site very unique.
I was interested in vocabulary flip book.
Do you have any ideas suggestions for the club.
We will be meeting on every Monday for 30 minutes.
    Thanks!

I think making words is perfect for a 30 min block! Author studies would be fun too. What type of curriculum does your school have? I think a book club would be fun for that block as well.

Meet the Teachers

Meet the Teachers

Back when we were both teaching, we dreamed of a website that would make lesson planning easier. We both remember late nights scouring search engine for unit ideas. After searching 1000s of blogs and sites, nothing was exactly meeting our vision: creative resources for the overworked teacher or homeschooler! So…this was born.
