This penguin math center has been a consistent part of our homeschool this month, and I wanted to share it with you! My son is working on adding three digit numbers, but often turns his nose up at simply filling out worksheets. Our penguin math center works on adding numbers into the teens, so it’s appropriate at this time of year for most kindergarten and first grade classrooms.
You can play this penguin roll, count, and cover game with up to four students. We use those large dice from the dollar store and different colored dot dabber markers. Racing to see who wins is much more motivating for most kids, my son included! He gains math skills, and better yet, we have fun!
You could even slide the math center into a page protector and use a dry erase marker to save on paper.

All these penguins are adorable. They reminded me of an article I read recently: 21 Fun Facts about Penguins . Enjoy!
